Designer Dupe #2- Chanel Slingbacks

July 2, 2017

No. 2 on this series are the Chanel Slingback shoes- a classic piece to have in one’s wardrobe. Coco Chanel’s love for sport and travel is what served as inspiration for the shoes. They were designed so that she could do those two things without seemingly dirtying her shoes.

Unfortunately, Chanel comes with a hefty £889 price tag and I think this particular colour is also sold out. So obviously I had to do some digging for dupes.

Earlier this year we saw many companies, namely Zara, launch their take on the shoes but I wasn’t really happy with the overall execution. I searched some more and finally landed upon Choies’ website.

I got these shoes for around £25. These are sold out on Choies, I’ll link below other places you could purchase the shoes for even cheaper! You can browse Choies for different dupe designs.

What I love about this shoe is that it is two-toned and would therefore go with any outfit. It can be worn in professional environments as well as more casual ones. The block heel adds height without compromising on comfort and you get to wear the timeless style while you save for the luxe version.

Tip: If you are buying the shoe, make sure you order a half size to a size down. I ordered my true size and the slingback is loose and slips down quite a bit. (If the smaller size proves tighter, you can always stretch the shoes out by wearing them with thick socks and blow drying your feet)

I styled the shoe with basics for the summer- a black tee and white tailored culottes for a day out in Strand, London. If you like the bag, a post on that will also follow.

Hope you like this post and let me know what you think about this series.
